Official Statement on the Appropriation of Financial Resources for the Schools in the Department of Education Regional Office VII

Cebu City, November 20, 2020 ── The Department of Education Regional Office VII (DepEd RO VII) is in consonance with the Basic Education – Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP) of the Department of Education (DepEd), entrenched from its commitment to genuine public service through communicating, cooperating, and collaborating with the relevant internal and external resources and stakeholders for the provision of relevant, accessible, liberating and quality basic education for all.

Hence, this Office would like to reiterate to its learning communities and to the general public that provision and equitable distribution of crucial resources required for all school operations and/or activities has been a priority of DepEd; as, such is implemented through the Downloading of Funds from the DepEd Central Office, the Allocation of Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) Funds, the Creation of the Special
Education Funds (SEF) as financial support from the local government units and the Brigada Eskwela Partnerships from the external stakeholders for DepEd’s programs and projects.

Prior to the implementation of the BE-LCP, DepEd RO VII has consistently reminded its 19 Schools Division Offices and schools on the conduct of proper planning and needs assessment for the budget allocation of all schools in the Central Visayas Region. These activities pre-program the allowed operating expenses, services and targets of the schools and provide contingency measures, fundamentally supporting a continuous basic
education for all. With these, teachers and learners are thus provided with sufficient and appropriate resources needed for their class engagements.
Further, the Department of Education Regional Office VII in coordination with the 19 Schools Division Offices shall continue to remind its schools to conduct regular planning, monitoring and assessment measures, so concerns are raised and are addressed appropriately.
